Kudos to BoE Member Peter Mountanos and his fellow WHS Alumni who organized and presented the 4th Annual Tech Day.
Unfortunately, it does not appear that the other members of the BoE or the key District Administrators (Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Director of Science, Director of Math) have yet been sufficiently imbued with the desire to take this wonderful one-day peek behind the curtain of the vast potential STEM career opportunities to actually inculcate this (STEM) much further into the Wantagh School District's district-wide curriculum, or, to seek partnership in any of the endeavors currently blossoming around the state and nation, e.g. with other school districts, or with BOCES, or with entities that operate STEM Academies, STEM Magnet Schools, or even charter schools, or, businesses and industry consortia who sponsor far more meaningful and concrete opportunities for real STEM education, especially for any of your kids who are both inclined and inspired to really catch the tech wave washing over our nation and the globe.
Stop peeking at the mysteries of STEM work, take the plunge!
Or send your kids to a good private (religious) school.
