Here is a nice article on the W-S Patch (link) posted, along with a photo, by our PR firm, Syntax. But both the article and the photo could have been so much more, and should have been, given the amount of money we spend on Syntax, our PR firm. (A PR firm, above all else, is supposed to make their client--WUFSD--look good. Here is my critique: Article: could have identified the teacher, or whomever is standing next to Michael Cucci in the photo, and explained her connection to the awards. Photo: - low resolution (click on it and it goes all blurry)
- too much vacant space all aound the subjects; should have been zoomed-in or cropped tighter.
- Caption does not identify all people shown. Who is that person standing next to Michael Cucci? Does everybody in Wantagh know who the Board Members are, which one is which?
Omission: I really think there should have been at least one, but probably two close-up shots of the art work for which the students won their awards. It is one thing to pay a lot of money to a PR firm to make you look good, but another thing to get crappy results for your money. If anyone reads the Patch article, then a congratulatory comment for the students may be a nice response. Chris Wendt
