...stands for Professional Development Plan. Wantagh had one, and it is still posted on the district website, despite its being out-of-date and expired.
This is an undated, 13-page plan which states in the text on the first page (3rd page of the PDF) that:
There is a certification sheet (last page) which has a signature and date block. Both the Superintendent's signature and date entries are [BLANK].
Folks, although this appears to be no big deal--and it really is not a big deal in and of itself--this is but one of several outdated, expired "Approved District Plans" that appear on our website. Our website is our face to the public whose children we are responsible to educate, and, whose tax money pays for what we do in our school district.
While not really a big deal, it unfortunately gives the appearance of sloppy work, lack of continuity and follow-through, and could raise questions about the effectiveness of controls and care-taking, and may reflect poorly upon our competency at various levels. Those potentialities are a much bigger deals than an outdated PDP.
In fairness, the Superintendent of Schools who did not sign or date this Plan was Phil D'Angelo. Perhaps he ran out of ink, or time to sign it.
We pay people good money to run our website. Time for them to get serious.
Eyes right!
