See my recent blog on Patch, "Feasting in the Land of Plenty" as we head in to the school board election. (hyperlink)North Shore Central School District out-spends Wantagh by 50% on a per-pupil basis. But even with spending an amazing $32,000 per student per year, North Shore cannot hold a candle to Wantagh's academic results. Billy Joel would ask, "Is that all you get for your money?" We have a candidate running for the Board of Education who is an administrator in the North Shore Central School District. Very much in keeping with this comparison, his salary is more that 50% greater than his counterpart earns, here in Wantagh.I don't think Wantagh Schools will benefit in any way from anything going on in the North Shore Central School District. Give this some careful consideration. I am going with Bill Russack who has been a significant contributor to Wantagh's performance and our realistic budgeting practices. Sincerely, Chris Wendt
