Here are a few suggestions on how to use this board to maximize communication between us.
Use the private message function here to get in touch with each other. In the upper right hand corner opposite Wantagh School District Community it says "Hey, Member Name, you have X messages, X are new." Click on the blue "X messages" and you can retrieve or send private messages to members here. Within the private messages, you can have personal information you may not want to disclose on the board.
Any member can start a thread. Within a topic area (e.g., Board of Ed, Budget and BAC or Fundraising, etc.), look on the orange/gold bar above for an icon that says 'start new thread'. It's that easy. Just type in a topic then the body of the message.
Does anyone know who the PTA, SEPTA and 6-12 leaders are? That information is not consistently available from the district website (e.g., Wantagh El has 2006/07 officers listed and no way to contact them). If they are members here, can you either please let me know on this thread or private message me here and/or ask them to email wantaghschoolcommunity@gmail.com? Also, there is a committee of high school students called something like "Students for Austerity". There are two soon to be senior kids leading it. If their parents are members here, can you also private message me or email wantaghschoolcommunity@gmail.com?
Thanks in advance.

I am sure if you go up to Administration, they can (and I am sure, willingly) provide you with all the names of the presidents of the committees/pta's, both for this year and those serving next year.

Some of our PTA Presidents are about to take office on July 1st. I'm sure that Admin could give you an updated list. In most units we have one second term President and one new first term, you will find that they are most helpful.
