You can look up the governor's proposal for Wantagh's State Aid for 2013-14 on Newsday.com, here:
Therefore, you should not attempt to rely on the state aid numbers presented in Newsday for any purpose whatsoever.
First of all, Building Aid is real aid, so why is it not counted or calculated in the gains and losses?
Secondly, it appears that Building Aid is not the only kind of aid not reported, because Wantagh is scheduled for more than $600,000 in Transition Aid if we would implement Full-day Kindergarten next year, yet the Newsday chart shows our total aid increase as being less than $600,000. We did not use any Kindergarten transition aid this year. But maybe the state is counting that we did use it, because, heck, they offered it to us, and who would have been crazy enough to give back $640,000 dollars in free state money? (Never mind answering that).
But please do take a couple of moments to scan up and down the Newsday database page, though, and see if the pluses and minuses among the various districts, and the puny percentages of their budgets that state aid represents for all districts make any real sense to you. At eight tenths of one percent of our Budget, does anyone expect that such a State Aid increase represents any real support of or help for Wantagh's students or us taxpayers, from the State?
I could be angry at seeing this, if only I thought getting angry would accomplish anything. Which it will not.

Newsday State Aid by District Database (hyperlink)You will see numbers in columns on the third page for Wantagh, but even if they make sense to you (they do not make much sense to me, and they should not make sense to you if you scan up and down the page for a minute), the picture they present is misleading and unreliable.
Therefore, you should not attempt to rely on the state aid numbers presented in Newsday for any purpose whatsoever.
