Not that there hasn't been anything about which to write, but the past month has certainly seen a tremendous amount of activity in the blogosphere, among politics and the presidential election, and Hurricane Sandy, the Nor'easter that followed, and of course the disruption of our lives and homes, our families, friends, and even the hallowed institutions of government, education, transportation, communication, and electrical power upon which our lives depend so very much.
I know that today there are still people without power, and I know my own situation improved dramatically only Wednesday when a line crew from Massachusetts restored power to my block. I also know that in our community, meaning our extended community, there are people who have suffered unimaginable losses.
I am posting here, today, solely symbolically, a small token of normalcy amidst the chaotic and surreal landscape in which we presently find ourselves. Together, at least; that is my hope.
I wish you all peace.
