People are talking about the Wantagh Mepham football game. As I heard it, a Wantagh player allegedly took out the Mepham punter with a direct hit after a kick. The Mepham player was hospitalized for a week. A comment was made about the Wantagh coach who was not called by name.
Do we still have a Code of Conduct at Wantagh?

Chris Were you at the game.? Well I was and there was a boy from Mepham that went to the hospital. There was a boy from Wantagh sent to the hospital when WantAgh played MacArthur. There was a boy from Wantagh that went to the hospital yesterday after playing Elmont. It is a contact sport and believe me as a mom It scares me to death when anyone gets hurt. But be careful with what you hear, because Rumors tend to have two sides. I saw that play,It was a boy on special teams and he did hit him after the whistle,( two seconds after) he did not get a penalty. .Makes me think it was a matter of not stopping more then a blatant hit. The football team has had enough controversy over the years. The boys work hard and play hard. Please get your facts straight before repeating rumors. Come to the homecoming game next week and try to remember that it is a game that kids are playing.
A code of contact is in effect and after watching every game, Their hasn't been anybody kids or adults who haven't followed it.

Don't shoot the messenger. I reported accurately what was told to me by someone who was at the game.
The title of this thread is "What Happened in the Mepham Game?" It was not "Look what happened at the Mepham game!"
You have answered the question I asked, and provided factual information about the play in question. Thank you.
I will relate your response to person who brought this to my attention.
