I hope you were all able to make it up to the High School for the Art Show last night. It was amazing! Our students did an incredible job on the art projects displayed and should be congratulated! This is a good thing that comes out of this school district and we should all be happy to see these achievements. Our students are remarkable!

I am sure the show was as remarkable as ever. We have very talented kids and very talented instructors in Wantagh. But the prior post begs the question... Was this event open to the public? Was it advertised, for instance on Patch? The district website had only the most sparse information, date and starting time, but no location(s), no ending time, and no highlights or teaser copy. See entry in District Website (Hyperlink)We not only still have an overpaid PR agency, but the BoE is lavishing even more tax dollars upon them...to do what? Advertise things like the Art Show? Making a post a day after the fact which says 'I hope you were able to make it' could certainly generate frustration in light of the fact that there did not seem to be any external advertising or public promotion, and not even a mention after the fact, today, on the Patch. If it wasn't meant to be a public event, then what was the point of the post hoping we all could attend? This event was billed as an "Arts Festival" from which I infer it was not meant solely for the parents of art students and the members of the school board. As a member of the public, hearing about it a day late, I am frustrated, especially given the fact that my main hobby for the past 50+ years has been photography. Opportunity lost.
