kind of late for us for tomorrow's vote but since I hope this forum continues to be a on-going exchange of ideas, questions and gripes, I came across another site called Long Islanders for Educational Reform that covers alot of our immediate issues/problems and much more across many school-centric topics beyond budgets and taxes. link is above
they like numbers too, like:
--------------2008-09 Budget --- Inc % --- Est Tax Levy --- % inc Nassau ----- $4,691,858,114 --- 5.05% --- $3,636,898,473 --- 4.07% Suffolk ----- $5,349,881,553 --- 4.89% --- $3,323,295,899 --- 3.67% Island ----- $10,041,739,667 --- 4.96% --- $6,960,194,372 --- 3.88%
and
2008-9 Cost Per Pupil Change: Nassau --- 204,215 Students --- Cost Per Pupil $22,975.09 --- 5.4% increase Suffolk --- 257,006 Students 2--- Cost Per Pupil $20,816.17 --- 5.3% increase
a bit of an angry tone overall, but good for links and resources on how to work your legislator for more funds, the safety of turf fields, all those references the more informed among us always refer to, school audit info and lots more.

Good site. From what I can see, lots of links to credible sources but I haven't spent that much time closely examining all of them. I'm not crazy about the angry tone.
