The highest court in NY State, the Court of Appeals has ruled that it is constitutional and lawful for (NY CITY) schools to post teacher evaluations online.
This kind of decision in normally precedent-setting for the rest of the state.
So in cool anticipation, while Wantagh is figuring out how to post reports now required under the amended Pubic Officers Law (Open Meetings Law), they can add teacher evaluations to their list of future website planning & development items.
Please don't shoot the messenger on either account (Open Meetings Law changes or Teacher Evaluations going public). Its the law. I don't make the law or establish legal precedents.
