Okay Lilly, you got the Part A question correct, the relationship is addition to a sum.
I guess you would pass if this were a Math Regents, owing to the sparcity of the information I provided concerning the Part B question. You would not pass, however, if this were a Social Studies Regents. So much for curricular integration.
I'll give the answer to Part B later or tomorrow, unless somebody gets it, sooner.

Here's some "Extra Help" on the Part B question:

293758 =
30015 =
30007 =
34165 =

Here's the gist of these numbers, which sum up to a Social Studies teachable moment.
The entire nation was spellbound by the run-up to and the tallying of the results of the Iowa Republican Caucuses. A small fortune was spent by candidates' campaigns and by Super PAC's advertising, to the tune of $102 per caucus attendee.
The two top vote-getters were separated by 8 votes!
Romney.........30,015 Santorum.......30,007
This is for the nomination for President of the United States of America. Compare this with the Suffolk County Executive election where the top 2 contenders each received over 100,000 votes!
Bellone........130,607 Carpenter...100,119
The total votes cast in the Iowa Caucuses was only 122,255. Steve Bellone received more votes than all of the Presidential candidates running in the Iowa Caucuses!
Point #1, however "BIG" the Iowa Caucuses are considered to have been by the media, the facts are that "race" was mathematically meaningless.
Let's go to the videotape: 30015.....Romney 30007.....Santorum 26219.....Paul 16251.....Gingrich 12604.....Perry 6073.......Bachmann 745........Huntsman 58..........Cain 31..........Roemer 135........No Preference 117.........Other 122255...Total Votes
Romney and Santorum failed to garner even 50% of the vote between them! They received only 24.6% & 24.5%, respectively.
"No Preference" received more votes than the difference between Romney and Santorum, and more votes than two of the other candidates in the field.
Minor candidates drew enough votes among them to have materially effected the top outcome in any number of possible but important ways.
Point #2, there was no real "victory" for Romney/Santorum in that race.
Personally, I feel the Iowa Caucus system is damaging to the best and highest interests of the Republican Party (of which I am a member). Unfortunately, I also recognize the fact that Iowa controls their own fate in terms of the caucus system.
I guess the best I could hope for is that someday the media will wake up and realize that the Iowa Caucuses are a non-event, or should be.
