The problem is not the teachers... The problem is not the administrators... The problem is not the unions... The problem is not the school board members... ...the problem is having 54 school boards in Nassau County who pretty much have no control over anything, even local control matters. Check out my blog on Patch for a solution to the problem... wantagh.patch.com/blog_posts/school-employee-salariesChris Wendt

Chris, I disagree...The problem is not only with all those groups you mentioned(the broken sytem) , but primarily rests with the APATHY of resident taxpayers, the one group you left out..We the people, have final say over these school budgets, via our vote....I just don't understand how one year Wantagh voters can say no to school budget, and then approve an even more bloated school budget the following year.....
PEOPLE WE NEED TO GET MORE INVOLVED IN BRINGING ABOUT CONSTRUCTIVE CHANGE!!! LONG ISLAND IS ON THE BRINK OF GOING DOWN THE TOILET OVER PROPERTY TAXES...PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH YOUR SCHOOL TAXES, PLEASE USE YOUR VOTE WISELY, AND JUST SAY NO!!! DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE THROUGH SCARE TACTICS OR POLITICAL THREATS....THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN, WHY THROW YOUR GOOD MONEY AFTER BAD.....LET THIS BROKEN SYSTEM COLLAPSE AND LET US START OVER....THERE ARE PEOPLE LIKE CHRIS OUT THERE WITH FRESH IDEAS TO MAKE LONG ISLAND A BETTER PLACE... PLEASE READ THEIR IDEAS, AND IF YOU AGREE, LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT TOGETHER....JUST DON'T SIT ON THE SIDELINES AND WAIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK.......
Chris, thank you for educating us with your ideas about making the school districts more money efficient in the Patch article ...
