IMO, although I do not support the owner of Billy Deans, the ruling seems to violate this individuals civil liberties (which were established with the initial approval) and potentially going to be overturn by the pending litigation (appeal).
So I have to ask, do you think this was a political ruling by Murry, since she is up for re-election in November? Furthermore, do you believe that our TOH elected officials know this ruling to be difficult to defend and essentially just hoping to push off the outcome until after the elections?
IMO, I would answer yes to both. In fact, I believe our TOH elected officials know the town will be liable (ruling overturned) and are wasting taxpayer money running a re-election campaign, so where is the regulations for this industry. Note: I'm will be crossing party lines this year, I suggest all the Wantagh residents seriously consider the neglect exhibited by our elected officials when voting.

Interesting points and provocative questions. As this is an ongoing legal dispute, I don't want to get into it at this point in time. For those of us who oppose the project at 3500 Sunrise, the present status is acceptable, all things considered.
Depending on the outcome of the appeal and whether or not something actually comes of the project, further reactions may be forthcoming. But as long as the project lies dormant, as is its current state, then no further reaction is warranted.
However, I think that if the project were to be revived through appeal then, in my opinion, the political backlash could be severe.
Kate Murray does not control the BZA. I don't think I could vote for her opponent, Gary Port. Who is Gary Port? I know Kate Murray, and she will get my vote again this year.
The other guy I could definitely not support is Steve Anchin who is trying to unseat Mark Bonilla as Town Clerk. Mark Bonilla has done an outstanding job. Anchin, in my opinion, is all about Anchin, and I think his platform is a bunch of irrelevant pipe dreams.
That's my opinion. As far as the Billy Dean issue, that will be for the court to decide in its wisdom at at its own pace.
