The Wantagh Public Library is a subsidiary of the Wantagh School Disrtict, supported by taxes paid by the same taxpayers who fund our schools. The tax levy for the School District raises tax revenue (money) for both the schools and for the library.
One of the hits against the library from the State Comptroller was the fact that the Library Board had appointed one of the trustees as Treasurer.
This is sadly reminiscent of those days when the Treasurer of the Wantagh School District was the sister of the President of the Board of Education, who is presently a Library Trustee.
You can't make this stuff up.
Absolutely incredulous,

Chris, do you have a link for the audit or a Newsday article?
I cannot believe particularly with all mess that was at the library that Ralph was voted in as trustee. He may build nice things (at taxpayer expense) but I'm not keen on his attention to rules & regs as they apply to finances or budgeting acumen. So, I don't think he was a great choice. The audit probably pre-dates his time on the library BOE but still, not good.
