At the dinner table tonight my little granddaughter, 2-1/2, was playing with her food and fooling around instead of eating. Her mother, my daughter, reprimanded her: "Stop playing with your food; put it into your mouth, chew it up, and swallow it--end of story!" I chimed-in, about the benefits of eating her squash, how it would make her smart... My granddaughter cleared her throat, looked me square in the eye across the table, and stopped me cold: "Pa, my Mommy said 'End of Story'"! Pretty savvy for a two-and-a-half year old kid. Put firmly in my place, Chris Wendt
