...they are adding Full Day Kindergarten, taking advantage of that NY State Full Day Kindergarten Transition Aid.
I hear the sixty (60) Levittown teachers will be furloughed, depending upon the final State Budget, which has not yet been passed in Albany.
Makes you wonder, or it should, where is anything like "LEADERSHIP" from NYSED and Nassau BOCES to the 54 school districts in Nassau County about what are the best ways for 54 school boards to deal with the current financial crisis?
The ratio of guidance counselors to secondary students, and the scheduling, seasonally, of guidance counselors would be a great starting place for the Sate/BOCES (BOCES being the representative of NYSED in the County) to take the bull by the horns and attempt to bring some order and process to who is cutting what and why among our school districts.
What is Section VIII doing about seventh grade sports, vis-a-vis the entire County, with some schools eliminating 7th Grade sports, some combining them with 8th Grade, and others maintaining 7th and 8th Grade Sport programs separately.
Daze and confused (NOT)
