...at the BAC with his Technology Budget presentation last night.
Not only was his presentation ramped up with dollars and justifications and fiscal restraint, but he amped it up with a thorough, interesting, no, exciting discourse about the latest and greatest educational and business technology being deployed in our school district.
Don's presentation should serve as a template for other department chairs preparing to present to the BAC.
The big take-away for me, and I think this is huge, is that Don has implemented a 'technology refreshment financing' plan which is emblematic of the kind of long-range planning that our school district has been sorely lacking for 30 years.
Don should be invited by the Board of Ed to give them a tutorial on long range planning, piloting, and flexibility. Not to knock the Board in those regards, but Don's approach is so fresh and on-point, the Board should not miss the importance of what is going on in the Tech Ed Department, but I am not so much talking about either technology or education as I am talking about management, goal setting, and planning.
WCC should invite Don Murphy for a sit-down on these topics as well.
Great stuff, Don!
Thank you.
