Look at last years Budget brochure 2007/2008. The tax increase as represented by the BOE was 4.00%. The 2007/2008 budget was $60,079,250 Now look at the small index card you get mailed to your home prior to the vote (required by the State). This increase for the same budget $60,079,250 is 5.94%. This represents an almost 30% difference from what was presented to the tax payer in the budget brochure. If base proportion and blended tax rate is considered the current tax increase of 8.75% (highest in Nassau County) can easily be 30% higher or 11.38% This is with a declining enrollment and more State aid than ever before.

EXCELLENT POINT COULD THE SCHOOL AND THE BOE BE TRYING TO FOOL US ? NO IT CAN'T BE THEY WOULDN'T DO THAT
