Buried somewhere on the district calendar is a SEPTA date (Monday, 3/23) for Rick Lavoie to come and speak. I don't know how confirmed it is but I hope since it's on the calendar, it is a done deal. There were a few Nassau districts & SEPTA's he spoke at last year. Those audiences were comprised of teachers, parents and administrators - with great turnouts & audience feedback. He is extremely knowledgeable, credentialed and an entertaining tremendous speaker. www.ricklavoie.com/aboutrick.htmlNormally, he focuses primarily on LD/ADHD kids since that is his area of expertise. I think LD/ADHD kids are about half+ of Wantagh's special ed student population. Anyway, here is his reaction to Gov. Sarah Palin's political speech regarding special needs kids. Get out the hankie... www.ricklavoie.com/Palin_sJourney.pdf
