Someone recently noted that I made a post very early in the morning. I did not think much about that until this morning when I noticed that a post I made at 6:08 AM was logged as having been posted at 5:08 AM.
What causes that, and can it be corrected?
Thanks,
Chris
PS- This very post was made a 6:14 AM but is logged in at 5:14 AM. -CW

On proboards, Eastern time is Greenwich Mean Time minus 5 hours which at some times of the year is off by an hour due to Daylight Savings Time.
Anyone can change their settings including time zone by clicking on profile at the top of the screen, then modify profile and you will see the setting choices.
Proboards added a box in the time zone section about using DST. Click yes it will adjust to the correct DST time.

in responce to BIG HEADLINES. how the towns have frozen taxes or reduced taxes....
“FROZEN TAXES?” That will be the day. The money has to come from someplace. To go along with the Frozen Taxes is the Newsday report on EDUCATION. The article does not shed new light on the topic of an extended school, and it starts to get people thinking about taxes, work schedules, after school activities and UNION CONTRACTS!
The extension of the school year would also require an increase in taxes. I’m sure that it is no coincidence that the town is talking about freezing taxes and Newsday talking about increasing the school year hence requiring an increase in taxes. It appears that someone is getting us ready to expect a tax increase, not from the Town; rather the increase that may come through property tax. The question is, who and/or what organization is behind all of this talk. The Teacher’s Union? The County? Or, maybe the State?
Do not forget that the Teacher’s Contract is due in June of next year. The County Executive has made it known that he would like to be Governor. The Governor needs the support of the Teacher’s Union. This circle is and has been complete for many years.
There are a few ways to break out of the circle. Break the Union, protest all property tax, abolish the school district and start a new school system without a Union. Is anyone ready to leave the frying pan fore the fire?
