I heard something incredibly disturbing about last night's BOE meeting. Outgoing BOE trustee/current BOE president Mike Souethout was being honored for BOE service, and two trustees walked out and refused to attend? My issues with this are: - It's just rude.
- Wantagh BOE has always had a ridiculous unspoken rule to 'speak with one voice' i.e., they don't break ranks with individual trustees voicing their pov's. I have long been critical of this contrived practice bc the community cannot get a feel for the judgement in whom they voted in. It always seems to work against the community and transparency but for whatever (diabolical? undesirable) BOE decisions. So, now two of them decide to break ranks with the ridiculous 'speak with one voice' practice with rudeness? How convenient for them [dripping with sarcasm]...
- Sounds like an inauspicious beginning to a new BOE 'regime'. Does not bode well at all for the Wantagh BOE.
Ppl should really think about their actions beforehand. As usual, I'm sure it was the same 20 ppl at the meeting. PPl really need to wake up and get involved or this is what you get...

Ppl should really think about their actions beforehand. Perhaps plenty of thought had been given to this decision to not attend, before the meeting.
Sometimes, in the court of popular opinion, if people do not "really think about their actions beforehand", then they get to read about themselves, afterwards. Presuming the veracity of your report, then my reaction would be...Oh, my. Chris Wendt
